Wow! What a great summer it's been! I had the opportunity to visit libraries throughout Nebraska, North & South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas. Not only did I get to see a lot of library friends, but I also got to make some NEW library friends! I performed at about a half dozen new libraries this summer. The "Libraries Rock" Summer Reading Program theme was certainly a fun one. The show got terrific reviews in both the Fremont, Tribune and the newspaper in Scottsbluff Star-Herald. T
Last Friday, May 25th, I kicked off my Summer Reading Program season with the Wahoo Public Library! Carrie Trutna almost always has me kick off their Summer Reading Program and they're usually the first library I do each year. The first show went a lot more smoothly than I expected it to. There were just a few little glitches (mostly with the sound system when it came to playing music), but I handled everything in stride and received some great compliments about the new show.
You and I both want to have HUGE crowds at your library this summer and I want to help make that happen by giving you a few of these terrific posters to help promote my magic show. They're currently being printed and I hope to be able to start mailing them out to libraries in mid-April. You'll notice these posters have a convenient box at the bottom where you can fill in all of the necessary information like date & time of the show. They're 17 x 11 inches...a great size to pu
Every year I invest in new tricks to put together a brand-new Summer Reading Program. Normally, I spend about $1,000. But this year, I've set a new record. There is one trick that I just COULD NOT let pass me by. The price tag on the trick was $2,200. That's just for ONE trick, so you know it's got to be a great one! That brings my total investment for the 2018 Summer Reading Program to about $3,000.That's the most I've EVER spent on developing ANY show. This new trick will
If your library is in Northeast Nebraska or Southeast South Dakota, I've got a great deal for you! The Hartington, Nebraska Public Library is interested in having me do a show on Friday, July 13th (Yes, Friday the 13th) and they're looking for a few libraries to partner with them that day. By partnering with them on that day, I offer both libraries a great discount. So many times I'll get a call or e-mail from a library hundreds of miles away asking what I'd charge to do a sh
Just like you, I want there to be a lot of people at my Summer Reading Program library show! If you need any promo photos, a biography or anything else from me, let me know...I'd be glad to help. Last year I even appeared on a local t.v. talk show a day or two before my library show in Bismarck, North Dakota! I enjoy doing whatever I can to help promote my appearance at your library. I'm also happy to talk to any newspapers or radio stations in the days leading up to my show.
Wow. I have a feeling that the 2018 Summer Reading Program season is going to be fun for all of us! I'm putting together all of my new tricks and routines and I'm so excited with the show that's under development. The show will have lots of music-related tricks and routines along with brand-new, fun audience participation segments. As of today, about 2 dozen libraries have already put me on their schedules for next summer. Many of them have me for multiple shows. If you'd li
