Incommunicado

Updated: Jan 29, 2020

About a week ago I started promoting my SRP show to libraries throughout the Midwest. You may very well have already received one of my flyers in the mail. For about the next four weeks I'll be working hard to book as many shows as I can because for most of the month of February I'm going to be VERY hard to reach. Why?

I'm going to be halfway around the world in Australia.

While I will be doing some work (performing), it's mostly a vacation. My wife and I have always wanted to visit Australia and everything sort of came together to allow us this wonderful opportunity. We'll be visiting Sydney, Hobart (Tasmania), Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Unfortunately, as you know, brush fires are raging throughout the country and there is horrible devastation for both people and wildlife. With that in mind, I have been scheduled to do a lecture for a magic club in Sydney. I will be donating my lecture fee (and a little bit more) to a fire-related charity of the club's choosing.

I urge you to please consider donating to a worthy Australian cause as well. Two I have donated to already are the Australian Red Cross https://www.redcross.org.au/ and the Zoos Victoria Brushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund https://www.zoo.org.au/fire-fund/ .

While we're there, I'm sure I'll be getting lots of inspiration for the 2021 CSLP "Tails and Tales" theme. I'm always working ahead.

Because of my trip, it will be difficult (but not impossible) to book a show for the Summer Reading Program. I will have limited access to my e-mail, so please bear with me if it takes a little longer for me to respond.

I hope you're all having a wonderful New Year!
