I'm not a hard-sell type of person. I also believe in honesty. I'm not going to tell you the I "only have x number of spots left for next summer", if it's not true. So here's the truth...I've been getting more libraries calling me earlier for next year than I have in the past.
As of right now, the last day of September, I'm scheduled to do 22 shows at 15 different libraries next summer. For the most part, these are libraries that have had me in the past and want to make sure they get the first choice of dates. Bear in mind that I haven't even done any marketing for next summer yet. In fact, my first mailing is scheduled to go out in mid to late October.
If you want to beat the rush, I urge you to send me an e-mail or give me a call as soon as possible. Last year there were at least half a dozen libraries I had to turn down just because we couldn't find an open date that fit both of our schedules.
