Originality

I have to admit that not all of my magic is 100% original. However, I do pride myself on the fact that all of my presentations are original.

In the magic world, there are thousands upon thousands of tricks being sold. Some magicians choose to present those tricks exactly as the instructions dictate. I just can't bring myself to do this. I need to add my own personality and flair into each trick that I perform. Some of it is verbal...creating my own "script" for the trick. Much of it is non-verbal. If you see me rolling my eyes or being surprised by something that's happening, you can be pretty confident that I've intentionally added those nuances to enhance my performance.

Every now and then, I come up with an idea that is 100% original. The picture I've included in this post is one of those ideas. The "Fizz, Boom, Read" theme this year inspired me to invent this machine. I actually built it myself and after nearly 6 months of trial and error, got it to where I wanted it to be.

I can guarantee you that this little machine is going to be the highlight of my Summer Reading Program show. I won't spill the beans and tell you what this machine does or what the routine is about, but I will tell you that it's something that will definitely keep everyone's attention and have your kids shouting and laughing.

I've said it before that one of the things I enjoy most about performing library Summer Reading Programs is that I get to create new tricks and new routines. There are companies in the magic world that sell show ideas based on the annual theme. Some places will even sell complete themed shows to magicians who don't want to come up with their own show.

Well, here's my guarantee to you. If you hire me, you will always get an original show. You'll never get a cookie cutter show that is being done by dozens of magicians all over the United States.
