I had a fantastic time at the MLA/KLA Conference in Kansas City, Missouri last Friday! Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. I got to showcase a few tricks from next year's Summer Reading Program show to several dozen librarians.
Unfortunately, I only had about 8 minutes to promote myself to everyone, but it must have worked...today I received an e-mail inquiring about doing several shows for libraries in Southwest Missouri. I'd love to do more library shows in Missouri and Kansas. For the last few years, my Summer Reading Program magic shows have been concentrated in Nebraska and Iowa with an occasional show in North and South Dakota.
Hopefully I'll be driving south a few more times this year and making some new friends in Kansas and Missouri!
