Prices for 2026

This is something I worry about every year. I love creating new shows for libraries each summer and every year I purchase new tricks and do-dads to ensure that the new show is at least as good as the last. But my expenses go far beyond that.
Every year I also print and mail out around a thousand post cards to libraries throughout the Midwest. In July the cost of a postcard stamp went up from 56 cents to 62 cents. A 6 cent increase per post card. Ouch! Fortunately, I had the foresight to buy a thousand stamps before the increase. When you factor in the cost of printing the post cards, that brings the cost up to around a dollar per mailing. Then there are the rising costs of travel. Hotels and travel are more expensive.
For the show, I always get a custom designed backdrop. I think this really adds a lot to the experience for our library guests. This year, I ordered TWO backdrops since the CSLP and iREAD themes are vastly different.
So, am I going to raise my prices for the summer of 2026?
No.
I don't think so, anyway. Right now I have no intention of raising my prices. HOWEVER, if something crazy should happen with the economy and gas shoots up to $5 a gallon or something like that, I may need to bump my prices a bit. But I have a promise for you...if you book me at a certain price and things go haywire, I will honor the price I quoted you. I may need to raise prices a bit for other libraries who haven't booked me yet, but the price I quoted you is the price you'll pay.
I've kept my fees the same for several years and I credit YOU for that. Being able to do so many shows each summer has allowed me to keep the prices at a reasonable level while still providing a quality, new magic show for libraries each summer. It also helps a lot if your library allows me to sell my magic kits after the show. Even if I just sell one or two, that's enough to pay for lunch or a few gallons of gas.
So, thanks again for having me at your libraries year after year. I appreciate it so much and I'm happy to report that NO PRICE INCREASES ARE PLANNED FOR 2026!
