It's Christmas Eve as I write this and my thoughts have turned to my library family. I've been performing for library Summer Reading Programs throughout the Midwest for over 20 years and over those two decades, I've become friends with many of you. We've been through good times and bad. I've helped you celebrate library renovations and other milestones.

And believe me, I am genuinely happy when you tell me that you're having a great Summer Reading Program season. Children that I performed for 20 years ago are now bringing their children to see me at your library. When a child comes up to me after the show and tells me how much they enjoyed a trick that I did last year, or two years ago, it lets me know that I really did make an impact. And I always smile when I come to a library and see a display of magic books, because I know that the books in that display will be checked out after my show.

So, I'm thinking about you on the day before Christmas and I am grateful that you have put your faith in me for all these years. Thank you so much.

If you celebrate Christmas, I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas. If you celebrate Hanukkah, I wish you a belated Happy Hanukkah. A joyous Kwanzaa to those who celebrate and if you celebrate nothing at all, I wish you a year filled with happiness.
